More than 100,000 U.S. military veterans have been denied their Second Amendment rights simply because they have been appointed a fiduciary trustee to help manage their finances. When these trustees are appointed, the veterans are automatically flagged in the FBI's National Instant Background System (NICS) as "mentally defective" and unable to own a gun. North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr and Virginia Sen. Jim Webb have introduced the Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act that would require judicial authority to determine whether these veterans pose a danger to themselves or others before they are denied their firearms freedom. Cam Edwards speaks with C.J. Ciaramella fro The Daily Caller about this legislation. Originally aired 10/19/2011.
