NRA-ILA Utah State Liaison Brian Judy talks with Cam Edwards about two gun bills that are currently moving through the State Legislature. The first bill would make the M1911 pistol the official state firearm. The second would require persons from states that have a reciprocity agreement with Utah to first obtain a concealed weapons permit from their home state before being issued a permit in Utah. Judy explains that the reason behind this bill is that nonresidents with more expensive gun permit requirements in their home states are taking their business to Utah. As a result, Nevada and New Mexico have rescinded their reciprocity agreements and Texas is looking to do the same. Utah citizens are losing states where their licenses are valid, so this legislation could help the problem. Originally aired 2/1/2011.
