Tennessee House Bill 2016, legislation that would allow licensed faculty and staff to carry concealed firearms on public college and university campuses, will soon be heard by the House Judiciary Committee. In an effort to take a stand against this legislation, the University of Tennessee (UT) faculty senate took a vote on the issue and circulated a university-wide email to faculty and staff explaining their unanimous vote against it. Cam Edwards speaks with Dr. Jack Parker, Research Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, who wrote his own email to UT faculty and staff explaining the other side of the issue and how campus carry can save lives. Originally aired 4/19/2011.
