Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) Larry Keane tells Ginny Simone that a United Nations body has made its first request for firearms trace data directly to a manufacturer. In this case the manufacturer, after seeking legal advice from the NSSF, declined the request and recommended that the U.N. follow proper procedures by contacting the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE). Keane explains that this story gives a frightening example of U.N. overreach as the international body works out its International Arms Trade Treaty.
