Texas concealed-carry laws are not at the root of violent crime. Austin Gun Rights Examiner Howard Nemerov joins Cam Edwards by phone to discuss statistics reflecting that carry permit holders are nine to ten times less likely to commit a violent crime in the state of Texas than unlicensed citizens. Despite claims from anti-gun media and individuals that Right-to-Carry laws significantly contribute to violent crime in the state, Nemerov says the numbers clearly show that legal gun owners are generally law-abiding citizens, and certainly not a significant factor in the Texas crime rate.
