In the wake of the Fast & Furious scandal, Ken Melson, former Acting Director of BATFE, has been replaced by Todd Jones, an U.S. Attorney from Minnesota. Melson will be transferred to the Justice Department's Office of Legal Policy. The assistant U.S. attorney responsible for the day to day operations of Fast & Furious, Emory Hurley, has also been removed from his post and reassigned to the department's Civil Division, and Dennis Burke, the U.S. attorney in Phoenix who worked closely with BATFE and provided legal guidance for the operation, has resigned.
