On this edition of Deal of the Day, Cam Edwards shares a story from Fairfax, Virginia where Nam Quoc Hoang, a Vietnamese national, has finally been charged with drug possession and intent to distribute after avoiding prison for several years since a previous attempted murder sentence in 2008. Hoang should have been deported on the attempted murder charge, but due to a technicality in U.S.-Vietnam relations, he could not be deported. Moreover, he would have been arrested for the many crimes he committed since 2008, but his sentence was not written incorrectly and there was no way to send him back to jail for violating his post-release supervision.
