On tonight's Deal of the Day, Cam Edwards report that 22-year-old James William Carolina entered an Alford plea to a charge of abduction, meaning that he does not confess guilt but acknowledges that the prosecution has enough evidence to convict him in a trial. Carolina was originally charged with capital murder in the 2008 shooting death of a Popeye's employee during an armed robbery. Prosecutors are recommending a 35-year sentence, but 33 years would be suspended and credit would be given for time already served, meaning that if the judge accepts the plea, Carolina could be right back on the streets. Originally aired 8/9/2010.
