On tonight's History File, Cam Edwards reports that a survey issued by the American Revolution center in 1999 and again in 2009 evaluates citizens' knowledge of and attitudes toward the founding of the United States. The number of Americans who consider the right to bear arms to be vitally important increased by twelve percent in the last ten years, although across the board people became less attached to other rights. Results measuring Americans' knowledge of basic facts of the American Revolution showed frightening ignorance of the central tenets on which our nation was founded.
