In a recent debate at the University of Virginia, NRA Deputy General Counsel Stephan Tahmassebi participated in a presentation and argument underlining the cultural and historical values involved with the gun control debate and whether there is compromise possible between the two sides of the issue. He tells Cam Edwards on this edition of the Civil Rights Roundup that the main issue concerns gun rights prohibitionists' mistrust of the average citizen to be responsible with a firearm. Unfortunately, as he explains, the law and circumstance has held time and again that when the glass breaks, the only person who can be entrusted to protect a victim is himself or herself.
