Doug Jackson discusses the veto of Tennessee's restaurant carry bill. The Senator tells Cam Edwards that the legislature plans to hold an override vote in one week for House Bill 962, and that it will be aided by the NRA-ILA's Chris Cox and possibly Wayne LaPierre, NRA Executive Vice President. The new law, vetoed by Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen at the last minute, would have allowed right-to-carry permit holders to bring their firearms into any establishment that serves alcohol. Edwards reports that the governor not only struck the bill down, he practically held a ceremony to commemorate the event.
