On tonight's Hero of the Day, Cam Edwards reports on two stories involving armed individuals. First, Miguel Amaya of Houston, Texas was driving his truck to work when he noticed an 18-year-old hiding in the backseat. Amaya struggled with the intruder and finally shot him non-fatally when the suspect failed to comply. In other news, multiple tales of individual courage came out of the Taliban attack on a UN guesthouse in Kabul, Afghanistan. The most prominent is that of John Christopher Turner of Kansas City, Missouri, who works for a trucking company on contract in the region. When the attack started, Turner grabbed an AK-47 and escorted guests out of their rooms, then provided covering fire for the civilians with the help of a Nepalese man. Turner and the other defender are credited with helping to save 25 lives.
