At a recent park festival, the Santa Rosa, California police and a SWAT team participated by displaying and presenting firearms as part of its community outreach effort to demystify law enforcement to citizens. Anti-gunners have brought down harsh criticism on the police for allowing children to handle the guns at the event, but Chief Tom Schwedhelm tells Cam Edwards that the weapons present were totally safe and that the program continues to help children and families understand the role of law enforcement in their communities.
