NRA-ILA California State Liaison Ed Worley talks to Cam Edwards about a recent story stating that Sacramento County, California issued an increased number of concealed carry permits this year. Worley points out that the numbers are still quite uninspiring, having only increased from 7 to 37 for the entire county. He described the current situation in California with its "may issue" policy on concealed carry, which allows each county sheriff to exercise a different set of standards. In some locations, gunsmiths and retired police officers are among those denied permits. Worley says that a bill to convert California to a "shall issue" state would introduce order to the state's patchwork layout of county-based policies.
