School history books will now portray the mass murderer as a hero. On tonight's History File, Cam Edwards talks about the appalling news from Russia that school history books in the country will henceforth present Joseph Stalin as "one of the most successful leaders of the U.S.S.R." The country claims that glossing over deaths of more than 20 million people under Stalin's hand will instill a sense of patriotism in their youth. He will be painted as a great-if-flawed national leader who did "what was necessary" to reform the Soviet Union.
