Chicago gun storeowner explains that the gun ban is ineffective. Anti-gun advocates in Illinois are claiming that the reason Chicago continues to have both a gun ban and high crime rates is that the ban "isn't big enough." However, as John Riggio of Chuck's Gun Shop tells Ginny Simone, "I've never known too many criminals who actually obey the law." He explains that only law-abiding citizens have been kept from legally owning guns since the ban came into effect in 1982, and that crime rates go up exponentially because criminals know their prey is likely unarmed.
