Second Amendment freedom could be allowed in public housing. The House Financial Service Committee has adopted an amendment that would permit law-abiding residents in public housing projects to own firearms. Niger Innis of the Congress of Racial Equality joins Ginny Simone by phone to explain how this measure could benefit residents of these communities who are currently "held hostage" in their homes by gangs and criminals every day. According to Innis, making the amendment into law could help the people in the projects break free from their perceived status as "second class citizens" by giving them the freedom to protect themselves.
