A recent op-ed titled "How could I not ask my patients about guns in the home?" by Judy Schaechter argues that doctors should not only have the right to push their anti-gun politics on patients, but also that they are obligated to do so since guns can be dangerous. The article is a response to the introduction of Florida House Bill 155 that would bar doctors and other medical providers from asking about guns in the home of their patients. Cam Edwards speaks with Dr. Timothy Wheeler, Director of Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership, who explains that guns and gun safety in no way fall under doctors' expertise, and a patient's gun ownership is none of their business.
