Rural Oklahoman forced to defend herself while waiting for police. On tonight's Hero of the Day, Cam Edwards shares a story from Cushing, Oklahoma where Donna Jackson, 56, shot a man who broke into her house while she was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher. Jackson was home alone and had armed herself with a shotgun when Billy Dean Riley, a stranger to Jackson, appeared at her back door and began shouting threats at her. When he picked up a table and threw it through the glass door, she shot him in the chest before he could harm her. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, and Jackson was safe by the time authorities were able to arrive at her residence.
