Cleveland officials are making their case before the Ohio Supreme Court, defending the city's assault weapons ban and registration requirement for handguns. However, lawyers for the state reminded the justices they had already ruled in a previous case that state lawmakers clearly intended for one statewide standard on firearms rather than a patchwork of local regulations. Ginny Simone speaks with Jim Irvine, head of the Buckeye Firearms Association, who says the outcome of this case is crucial to clarifying Ohio state preemption laws once and for all.
