Armed citizen shoots pit bull to save an animal control officer. On tonight's Hero of the Day, Cam Edwards shares a story from Plainfield, Connecticut where Theresa Foss, an animal control officer, was called out to a residential area with complaints about the dog. When Foss was knocked down and viciously attacked by the animal, resident Ron Roberts, one of the complainants, fired two shots from his legally owned .22 caliber rifle. The dog reportedly yelped and ran away, and Foss is expected to recover from her injuries.
