On this edition of Hero of the Day, Cam Edwards shares a story from Wheaton, Illinois where an off-duty police detective awoke to find an intruder in his home. A struggle ensued, and the officer was able to break free and get his firearm while his wife called 9-1-1. A neighbor, who happened to be a retired county sheriff's deputy, came to the officer's aid, but the intruder continued his aggression. The homeowner shot him, but he is likely to recover and face charges. Originally aired 9/28/2011.
