Ginny Simone is on the scene in New York, covering the United Nations talks as plans for an international arms-trade treaty are formulated. Today the member nations hear testimony from various nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) on the subject of gun control, and Simone is joined by Tom Mason of the World Forum on the Future of Sport Shooting Activities (WFSA) to analyze the proceedings. Mason says that the anti-gun agenda is being set by NGOs like the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA), which enjoy the financial support of George Soros and other wealthy benefactors. While the anti-gun groups give long, emotional speeches, Mason explains that the NRA and the WFSA prefer to give short statements of fact. The defenders of the Second Amendment support the cause of regulating illicit arms trafficking but want to make sure that civilian firearms are not included in any treaty. Originally aired 6/16/2010.
