NRA-ILA Maine State Liaison John Hohenwarter speaks with Cam Edwards about LD 1737, a bill that would unconstitutionally eliminate the right to carry concealed firearms in Acadia National Park. On February 22, 2010, a federal law that allows the right to carry paralleled to preemption laws like the ones in Maine in National Parks goes into effect. Regardless, the Joint Standing Committee on Criminal Justice came out with a tied vote on LD 1737. Hohenwarter urges gun owners and Second Amendment supporters to contact their lawmakers and ask them to vote this bill down.
