Armed seafarers were able to defend themselves from Somali pirates. Cam Edwards speaks with Howard Nemerov, Austin Gun Rights Examiner, about the second and much less dramatic conclusion to a pirate attack on the Maersk Alabama cargo ship. Unlike the first time in which Navy Seals performed a heroic rescue to save a captain who had been taken hostage, a small security team on board the ship was prepared the second time around to thwart the pirate attack. Nemerov discusses press coverage of the excitement and the U.N.'s ineffective strategy to discourage merchant mariners from arming themselves.
