Police Officer Derek V. Cook of Springfield, Massachusetts has been convicted of assault and battery on two superior officers. He will serve three months suspension without pay, but after that he will be reinstated as a firearm-carrying police officer. If he were a civilian with the same conviction, he would no longer have the right to carry in Massachusetts. Ginny Simone speaks with Jim Wallace of the Gun Owners Action League who says this double standard is even more upsetting because police officers are, more than anyone else, expected honor and uphold the law.
