Library of Congress (LoC) Inspector General Karl Schornagel talks to Ginny Simone about the institution's inspectors and their need to carry duty firearms. The inspectors were prohibited from carrying guns for six months and were forced to suspend many of their criminal investigations, which cover crimes ranging from child pornography to embezzlement. Now that their right has been restored, the Library of Congress no longer needs to rely on other law-enforcement agencies to pick up its cases.
