So far this year, 48 law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty-an alarming 17% increase of on-the-job officer deaths over last year. Attorney General Eric Holder has called for a meeting of the minds for "common sense laws" that will protect more officers, some being, of course, for gun control. Ginny Simone speaks with Frank Borelli, Chief Editor of Officer.com, who says new laws are not the answer. Rather, he explains, repeat offenders need to be taken off the streets, plea bargains need to stop and the laws on the books need be enforced and prosecuted more effectively to keep violent criminals off the streets.
