Businessman will be eligible for parole in under five years. On today's Deal of the Day, Cam Edwards reports on Charles "Ken" Qualls, 53, of Savannah, Tennessee, who submitted a guilty plea for voluntary manslaughter under the terms of a plea bargain. Qualls shot 27-year-old Charles Garrard, who was his employee, outside his furniture store in July 2008 after accusing him of stealing money. The killer was originally charged with first-degree murder and potentially faced a life sentence, but the prosecution was concerned that the jury would not consider the shooting to be premeditated.
