Nine years ago, Raymond Holden was stripped of his firearm permit and guns when he was arrested for assault and battery. Charges were dropped. Holden is still fighting to get his guns and permit back, but the struggle has now become a state Supreme Judicial Court issue. Jim Wallace, executive director of the Gun Owners Action League in Massachusetts, notes that state law must be strengthened and clarified, as gun rights often depend upon the opinion of local police.
