The House Public Safety Committee voted 13-9 in favor of Castle Doctrine legislation that would allow law-abiding citizens the right to use force, even deadly force, to defend themselves without the duty to retreat. Cam Edwards speaks with Iowa State Representative and Assistant Majority Leader Matt Windschitl about the bill. Windschitl says the measure extends beyond "regular" Castle Doctrine legislation, protecting citizens' right to self-defense "anywhere they have a lawful right to be" as well as in their homes or place of business.
