Director of Research at the Center for Individual Freedom (CFIF) and HumaneWatch.org blogger David Martosko talks to Cam Edwards about recent developments for the blog, which works to spread information about the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). HumaneWatch is currently placing full-page ads in national newspapers and will soon have another billboard in Times Square, all explaining that HSUS contributes only a tiny fraction of its proceeds to supporting local animal shelters. Martosko explains that while many of the benefactors of HSUS are devoted animal-rights advocates, probably about half are ordinary animal-lovers who have been misinformed as to what the organization represents. He also details the "HumaneWatch/HSUS 50% Challenge," in which he promises to shut down the site if HSUS begins to give half of its proceeds to animal shelters. Originally aired 5/18/2010.
