On tonight's History File, Cam Edwards takes viewers back to July 1, 1776, when American politicians argued over whether to release the Declaration of Independence. Delegate John Dickinson of Pennsylvania delivered an impassioned speech in opposition to independence, and it was up to John Adams to defend the project of American sovereignty. Edwards reads the dramatic exchange in commemoration of this formative event in American history. Originally aired 7/1/2010.
