Charges dropped against cyclist who shot a man in self-defense. On tonight's Hero of the Day, Cam Edwards tells a story from Tampa Bay, Florida, where Charles Podany, 49, asked a speeding pick-up truck driver to slow down in the Bay Hills Circle community. After the exchange, the driver's friend, Casey Landes, 24, attacked Podany, striking him and jumping onto his chest. Podany pulled out his legally owned, licensed-to-carry gun and fatally shot Landes as he drew back for another punch. Podany was charged with manslaughter, but the case was dismissed due to Florida's Castle Doctrine.
