Amanda Collins, the victim of a brutal rape at the University of Nevada-Reno, was a right-to-carry holder who had not been allowed to take her firearm on campus the day she was attacked. Her attacker, of course, was armed and took advantage of the fact that Amanda would be unarmed in a gun-free zone just 100 yards from the campus police station. Amanda and her father, Tom Collins, have testified in favor of the Nevada Campus Protection Act (Senate Bill 231) that is up this session. Tom Collins tells Ginny Simone that his daughter was victimized twice: once by the rapist, once by the law that kept her from protecting herself. Originally aired 6/2/2011.
