Rock Valley College Professor Penelope Blake recently attended an academic conference called "Histories and Commemoration: The Legacies of the Pacific War" that was sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and paid for with tax dollars. The conference presenters made outrageous assertions that American veterans are "misrepresented" as heroes, and that the Japanese who attacked Pearl Harbor and tortured and murdered millions of people should be seen as "victims of Western oppression." After Professor Blake wrote her congresspersons and the NEH, however, further conferences have been suspended pending an investigation. Originally aired 12/7/2010.
