Shreveport grocery clerk talks about shooting a would-be robber. Fifty-nine-year-old Felton Hall tells Ginny Simone that he was working at his family's business, the Cherokee Park Grocery, when a couple of thugs walked in the door demanding beer at a time of day when it was illegal to sell it. When Hall informed the men that they would have to wait, an argument ensued in which the men insisted to Hall that they would "take what they want[ed]." As one of them reached for his pistol, Hall pulled his legally owned handgun and shot first. He is one of three Shreveport, Louisiana, clerks and storeowners to thwart a robbery attempt with a firearm in recent news.
