According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Shooting Illustrated Assistant Editor Bob Boyd says, "In 2008, people with disabilities were victims of 40,000 rapes or sexual assaults, 116,000 robberies, 115,000 aggravated assaults and nearly 459,000 simple assaults. In 20 percent of these cases, the perpetrator used a weapon. People with disabilities between 12 to 24 and 35 to 49 years of age were nearly twice as likely to be targeted when compared to other people in those age groups." Cam Edwards speaks with Boyd about his article "Disabled in the Bullseye" and the need for Disabled Americans to know how to defend themselves. Originally aired 4/15/2011.
