On this edition of Deal of the Day, Cam Edwards shares a story from Denver, Colorado where David Jerome Maestas, 33, lead police officers on a high-speed chase after committing a home invasion robbery and stealing a Jeep. Maestas was on parole for a January 2009 arrest for assault with a deadly weapon, illegal discharge of a weapon and felony menacing. He received a plea deal for the crime despite arrests dating back to 1996 for trespassing, assault, drugs and burglary. He pulled a gun on police officers during the chase and was fatally shot. At the time of his death he was also a suspect in a burrito stand murder investigation. Originally aired 8/9/2011.
