On tonight's Deal of the Day, Cam Edwards reports that John Wesley Ewell, who had spoken out against California's "Three Strikes" law on national television, is now accused of murdering four people during a series of home invasion robberies. Although Ewell spoke of the harshness of the state's criminal justice system, he had actually enjoyed a great amount of lenience, having been eligible for his third strike on four different occasions. He also had prison time deferred for supposed medical concerns, during which time he allegedly committed his murders. Originally aired 12/1/2010.
