The NRA is moving to combat a ballot measure planned for November in Cook County, Illinois, which would ask voters to ban sales of semi-automatic firearms across the state. NRA Illinois Lobbyist Todd Vandermyde tells Ginny Simone that NRA member and Cook County resident Selvin Morgan is leading the charge by challenging the procedure behind this measure. While such a referendum requires a supporting petition with over 83,000 signatures, the petition submitted appears to only have roughly 2,500 entries, many of which contain bad contact information or refer to residents not registered to vote. Vandermyde says that hopefully this ballot measure can be struck down without a lengthy battle, but the NRA is ready to challenge it in court if necessary. Originally aired 8/11/2010.
