On tonight's Hero of the Day, Cam Edwards reports that Samir Al-Madi, a 25-year-old clerk at a Snappy convenience story in Miami, Florida, was on the job when he saw Alexander Brown, 24, approaching the counter wearing a hood. When the assailant pulled a gun, Al-Madi drew his own firearm and shot the would-be robber in the jaw. The clerk felt threatened when the attacker tried to get up and shot him one more time. Brown, who was released from prison last year after serving time for burglary, was taken to a hospital and will be charged with armed robbery.
