IL gun storeowner comments on the dwindling annual program. Ginny Simone talks with Don Mastrianni, owner of a local gun shop and range called Illinois Gun Works Inc. about the dramatic decrease in guns exchanged for $100 bankcards at the event. This year 4,900 fewer guns were turned in than last year, and Mastrianni says it is because people are "running out of old, rusty things to turn in." He explains that criminals are not going to exchange $500 guns for $100 bank cards as a general rule, and that he is not surprised at the low turnout.
