Though the New Democrat Party (NDP) in Canada has not required its constituents to vote against the measure to strike down the long gun registry, NDP Leader Jack Layton is trying to make a last ditch effort to save this costly and ineffective gun control. Cam Edwards speaks with Tony Bernardo, Executive Director of the Canadian Institute for Legislative Action, about this recent development. Bernardo says Layton's plan to "fix" the registry is unconstitutional and should not hold water as the registry repeal bill approaches its third reading. Originally aired 8/31/2010.
