New Jersey's Legislature is holding a joint hearing of the Senate and Assembly Education Committees today. NRA board member Scott Bach of the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs reports the organization has issued a public statement on school security on behalf of the state's one million law-abiding gun owners. It calls for an immediate vulnerability analysis of every school, hardening every classroom, requiring armed security during school hours and allowing trained teachers and staff to carry concealed to act as first responders in the event of an active shooter threat. Scott says their focus on the guns of the law-abiding is wrong-headed and deliberate. Criminals will always ignore gun control laws and victims have no way to stop the threat. They want to outlaw private gun ownership. Originally aired on Cam & Co 04/10/18.
