A Detroit News article describes a Dearborn, Michigan man who fired his AR-15 at his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend in a car chase before shooting himself. In response, Police Chief Ronald Haddad has condemned the AR platform as a "weapon of war" and called for the usual laundry list of gun control laws. Surprisingly, the paper spoke to someone who knows a thing or two about guns and gun laws. Rick Ector of Rick's Firearm Academy of Detroit was that expert. He points out it's already illegal to carry a loaded rifle in your car. An AR is a semi-automatic rifle, not a fully-auto battlefield weapon. Haddad's call for more "gun-free" zones would only create more honeypots of defenseless citizens for criminals to prey upon. Rick says Haddad is just another politically-appointed police chief. Rank and file officers support the Second Amendment. Originally aired on Cam & Co 05/30/18.
