The LA Times reports that accidental guns deaths continue to decline across America, a 48 percent drop at a time when there are more firearms than ever before. Dr. Robert Young of Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership says avoiding accidents is something the NRA, the NSSF, manufacturers, gun stores and trainers are working for. It's something to celebrate. He notes the article credits gun laws, but they don't teach gun safety. Nor has the number of gun-owning households declined. Dr. Young says it's all about intense efforts at education in the proper use of firearms. He also provides an update on 2ADoc.com, a directory of gun-friendly healthcare professionals.
