The American gun is a story of innovation, power, violence, character and freedom. David Harsanyi is senior editor at The Federalist and author of the new book, First Freedom: A Ride Through America's Enduring History with the Gun. It explores the different ways firearms have preserved religious, economic and cultural freedom. It's an exciting ride through Second Amendment history that shows why guns were a vital part of our past and essential to the future. He wrote the book in part to refute the "collective rights" theory. It rebuts more than a decade of gun control falsehoods. Asking the government for the right to use a gun would have been unthinkable to the Founding Fathers. Historically, local gun control laws were typically used to oppress minorities. David explains that the greatest danger to the Second Amendment is ignorance of our history. Originally aired on Cam & Co 10/04/18.
