When Governor Dannel Malloy proposed a dramatic increase in pistol permit fees, gun owners in the state voiced outrage. The Connecticut Citizens Defense League held a press conference in which gun owners on fixed incomes, retirees and a bipartisan group of state legislators denounced the increases. Carry permit applications fees would rise from $140 to $370 and five-year renewals from $70 to $300. CCDL president Scott Wilson reports that a public hearing will be held on Thursday, March 9 at 10:30 AM at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. He says that the hearing does not end until the last person has an opportunity to testify. Testimony may also be submitted by mail. Scott calls on as many gun owners as possible to testify against the fee hikes – this is probably the last chance. Originally aired on Cam & Co 03/03/17.
