An alarming new study from the Centers for Disease Control reports that a quarter of adults in the United States suffer from hearing loss from noise. Of those forty million people, a full half have hearing loss from sources outside of the workplace: leaf blowers, sirens, rock concerts and the explosive sound of firearms. Dr. Robert Young, executive editor of Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership, talks about the need for Congress to pass the Hearing Protection Act, which would remove firearms suppressors from the NFA and legalize them on a federal level. They suppress the noise of shooting to a more manageable level, reducing the chance of hearing damage. Originally aired on Cam & Co 02/09/17.
